Community Cultural Development NSW (CCDNSW)

is the peak body for community arts and community cultural development (CCD) in NSW.

Role and purpose

Our primary role and purpose is to be the leading voice advancing social change through the arts, forging partnerships between stakeholders, artists and communities across NSW.

Our Goals

1.      Advance CCDNSW as the peak body for community arts and cultural development practices in NSW. 

2.      Increase awareness of and promote a strong profile for community arts and cultural development practices.

3.      Create and influence environments that will benefit from community arts and cultural development.

4.      Prepare artists and cultural development workers to take up opportunities for current and future sustainable practices.

5.       Establish stable and sustainable organisational capacity to better support CCDNSW’s mission and purpose.

Our Work

CCDNSW achieves its goals by:

Connecting and maintaining practitioner networks and organisational partners.

Advocating the value of community arts and cultural development practices.

Promoting the process of working collaboratively to give voice to the values of communities and to achieve mutual outcomes for multiple stakeholders.

Building and maintaining relationships between arts and non-arts stakeholders working towards community well-being.

Researching the sector and developing resources, professional development opportunities, documentation and discourse on best practice.

Supporting community artists and cultural development workers through providing advice, information and assistance in their professional lives.
